What: Injury Prevention in the Off-season panel discussion + Q&A
When: Monday January 6, 2020 -- Doors open 6:30 PM, Start 7:00 PM
Where: Human Performance Collective
1958 S Industrial Hwy, Suite C
Ann Arbor, MI 48104
Description: Panelists: Kim Litosky -- ATI Physical Therapy (https://www.atipt.com); David Cotner -- Human Performance Collective (https://humanperformancecollective.com), Michael Parker -- Parker Performance Training (https://www.parkerperformancetraining.com)
We will focus on common injuries caused by improper maintenance training in the off / pre-season, the importance of strength work to protect joints and bones, specific exercises to maintain muscle groups and joints through the repetitive motions of the 3 disciplines, and what we can do now to be able to handle in-season volume. We'll also touch upon ways to maintain health for those with Spring marathons and half marathons to be followed by a full triathlon season. This is also a great panel and discussion for beginner triathletes who want to succeed as they're getting into the sport without being sidelined by common aches and pains that can delay progress.
Expect a roughly 45-min panel discussion / presentation, followed by time for Q&A and post event socializing and one-on-one time with the guest speakers.
Light refreshments to be served.
Cost: Free! However, we would appreciate a few minutes of your time: please take our INJURY HISTORY SURVEY so our panelists know which injuries are most common among our club members.
