For club liability reasons to participate in club workouts, you are required to be a Ann Arbor Triathlon Club member. Please use the sign in sheet at workouts. You swim at your own risk. There are NOT any lifeguards on duty and no one is responsible for you, except your self. If you are not comfortable swimming across the lake, do not do so.
Everyone must use a swim buoy and be a club member. You can purchase a buoy at https://www.kiefer.com/open-water-swimming-pages-1207.php
Sunday Open Water Swim/Run at Silver Lake
Hosted by Mike Fitzsimmons
Where: 9377 Anne St, Pinckney, MI 48169
When: Swim starts at 8:00 am.
Parking: Members can park in near the garage across the street or in the same parking area as Monday night and walk down the hill.
Summary: All club members are welcome! If you don't own one it is recommend that you purchase and bring a swim buoy. The swims are good to practice and train for open water swims. There is no lifeguard and all member will swim at their own ability and risk. The lake is 1/2 mile across and we typically swim across and back. Depending on the event, some members do multiple laps.
Run - There are many options to run after the swim. Here are two of the options.
6 Mile Dirt Road Run
3.7 Dirt Road Run
You could also make these longer and add some of the Poto trail.
We suggest that swimmers that take longer than 1 hour to swim one mile may consider swimming half way across and back or along shore before trying to swim the complete distance across the lake and back.
